Cancer Screening

As a community health project, and part of our Oncology course, we were sent out in teams to locations like grocery stores to do an information blitz.
As part of the Get Screened campaign from the Canadian Cancer Society, we handed out brochures on different types of cancer, and answered questions if people had any. We also helped people fill in auto-reminder forms who wanted to have emails sent to them from the Canadian Cancer Society about annual checks and screening they could do.
The project was a really good opportunity to meet people and get a feel for their attitudes about cancer, and their level of interest in prevention and self education.
I include a link for the Canadian Cancer Society website. It is very informative, and user friendly. http://www.cancer.ca/Nova%20Scotia.aspx?sc_lang=en
