Hurricanes Rita and Katrina
I was living in the City of Bryan-College Station when these two storms devastated the Gulf Coast. I was safe, but evacuees came to us from all over for food, clothing, shelter both temporary and permanent, and aid and comfort of all kinds. I was a Red
Cross volunteer helping obtain and distribute emergency
supplies, man shelters, sort donations of food and clothing, and
place refugees in temporary housing. I also helped people stay in touch with family by helping them with internet communications at our office which was a computer business.
