Red Cross
I am a volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross in the Antigonish area. I am part of the personal disaster response team, and in that role have helped families dealing with house fires, and also helped with evacuation shelter set up. I have also served as acting team lead for the personal disaster response team.
I have also served at information booths when Hurricanes or Tropical storms were coming to help people be aware of what they might need to shelter in place, and what emergency supports were available to them. I have been placed on call many times during storm watches to be available to assist in the event of disasters.
